The short version

You pay by the month or by the year, you upload documents, we host them behind a short URL and a QR code and keep that link resolving. You are responsible for what you upload and who you give the code to. We can disable a collection that breaks the rules below.

Using PlanStake means you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are saying you are allowed to.

Your account

One account, one email address, signed in with a link we email you. Keep control of that mailbox: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at support@planstake.com if you think someone else has got in.

You are responsible for everything done through your account, including what the people you share codes with do with the files.

Acceptable use

Do not use PlanStake to host or hand out:

malware, or anything designed to damage a device that opens it;
plans, drawings or documents you have no right to distribute;
dumps of other people's personal information;
phishing pages, fake invoices, or anything meant to deceive whoever scans the code;
content that is illegal where you are or where we operate.

Report anything abusive to abuse@planstake.com. We can disable a collection immediately on a credible report, and we will tell the account holder what we did and why. Repeated breaches end the account.

Files and information shared through PlanStake

PlanStake is a hosting tool. The people who upload files and hand out links are solely responsible for what they upload and who they share it with.

We do not review, verify or endorse anything uploaded to a collection. Plans, drawings, specifications, prices and every other document come from the account holder, not from us, and we make no representation that any of it is accurate, current, complete or fit for any purpose.

Anyone who downloads a file or relies on it does so at their own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any information or files shared through the service, including any loss or damage arising from relying on them, downloading them or opening them.

We may remove content or disable a collection that breaks the acceptable-use rules, and we will tell the account holder when we do.

What we commit to about keeping it working

The point of PlanStake is that a printed code keeps resolving, so here is what that means in practice. While your subscription is paid, your collections stay live. If a payment fails, everything stays live through the retry window, about two weeks, while we email you about the card. If you cancel, the page a scan opens says the collection is temporarily unavailable rather than going dead, and your files are kept for 30 days so you can pick it back up.

Payment and cancellation

Plans are billed monthly, or yearly at a discount. You can cancel at any time and it takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Upgrades bill the difference straight away; downgrades take effect at renewal. Prices can change, but never for a period you have already paid for.

The service is provided as is

PlanStake is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that files will always be retrievable, and you should keep your own copies of anything you upload.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PlanStake is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, reprinting costs, or loss of data, arising out of or connected with the service — whether or not we were told such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions, in which case they apply as far as they are permitted and no further.

Copyright and takedowns

If something hosted here infringes your copyright, send a notice to dmca@planstake.com with the work concerned, the collection or file URL, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act for them. We review takedown notices promptly, disable the material where the notice is valid, and tell the account holder so they can respond.

Ending an account

You can close your account whenever you like; doing so removes your collections, which means printed codes pointing at them stop working. We can suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of the acceptable-use rules, and we will say why.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we change the date at the top and email account holders before any change that materially affects them.
